Social media platforms circulated footage showing members of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades — the military wing of the Hamas movement — in a street in Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, burning a vehicle belonging to one of the so-called aid thieves.

The images also showed Al-Qassam fighters carrying out a field execution of those they called “aid thieves,” amid cheering from residents.
According to Palestinian media, “Al-Qassam fighters, in cooperation with the Sahm Unit of the Ministry of Interior, neutralized a group of thieves and bandits to maintain security and ensure fair distribution of aid and goods.”
In November 2024, sources in Gaza’s Ministry of Interior reported that more than 20 members of what they described as aid truck theft gangs were killed in a police operation carried out with tribal committees.
Since the start of the war on Gaza, aid trucks have been subjected to theft and looting by gangs operating under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.
The occupation army has also deliberately targeted personnel securing humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza, in what the Government Media Office described as an effort to facilitate theft by local gangs backed by Tel Aviv, and to intensify a policy of starving Palestinians.
The Washington Post previously reported that aid organizations said Israeli authorities rejected most requests for better measures to protect convoys in Gaza, as well as appeals to allow Gaza’s civilian police to guard the trucks.
Since October 2023, Israel — with U.S. support — has waged a genocidal war on Gaza’s population, killing over 61,000 Palestinians, injuring more than 152,000, and displacing nearly all residents of the strip, amid unprecedented destruction not seen since World War II, according to Palestinian and international reports.
