5881 students killed, 9899 injured in Gaza, West Bank since Oct. 7

OCCUPIED WEST BANK— On Tuesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Education reported that 5881 students have been killed and 9899 have been injured since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza and the occupied West Bank. اضافة اعلان

According to the Ministry's statement, the number of students killed in Gaza has exceeded 5826, with 9570 injured. In the West Bank, 55 students were killed and 329 others were injured, with an additional 103 being detained, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

The Ministry further stated that 264 teachers and administrative staff have been killed, with 960 injured in Gaza. In the West Bank, six were injured and more than 73 were detained.

Highlighting the impact on educational infrastructure, the Ministry reported that 286 government schools and 65 UNRWA schools in Gaza have been subjected to shelling and sabotage. This has resulted in 111 schools suffering severe damage, with 40 completely destroyed. Additionally, 57 schools in the West Bank have been invaded and sabotaged. Moreover, 133 government schools have been repurposed as shelters in Gaza.

The Ministry emphasized the ongoing challenges faced by students, noting that 620,000 students in Gaza remain unable to attend school due to the war. Most students are grappling with psychological trauma and enduring difficult health conditions.
