The participation marks a historic milestone for Jordanian boxing, as this will be the first time the sport has qualified for the Youth Olympic Games. The two boxers secured their places after recording victories at the World Championships, earning them the opportunity to compete at the Olympic event.
National team coach Omar Majali said the athletes’ qualification reflects the development of Jordanian boxing across different age groups and highlights the success of efforts to prepare young boxers for major international competitions and events.
“The qualification of Jordanian boxers for the Youth Olympic Games for the first time is an important step in the journey of Jordanian boxing. It reflects the progress the sport has made in recent years, particularly among the age groups that form a fundamental pillar of the national teams’ future,” Majali added.
Majali noted that the national team’s ambitions extend beyond participation in the Olympic event, as it aims to compete and deliver strong technical performances that reflect the standing of Jordanian boxing and the progress it has made on the international stage.
