In a post on his Instagram account, Tyson said his visit would include the ancient city of Petra, describing it as a historic site he had long wanted to see up close. He also expressed his excitement about visiting the Kingdom and meeting its people.
The event is being held with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board.
The week’s activities will culminate in the “DF: UNCAGED” fight night, scheduled for Friday, October 30, at the Roman Theatre in Amman. The event will feature Jordanian and international fighters and be attended by a number of sports stars and prominent figures.
Organisers said the week aims to strengthen Jordan’s position as a sports tourism destination and a host of international events, while linking the competitions to the promotion of the Kingdom’s tourist and archaeological sites and cultural experiences.
They added that hosting international stars and guests' helps showcase Jordan, the diversity of its destinations and the hospitality of its people to a global audience through media coverage and content shared by visitors with their followers, encouraging them to visit the Kingdom.
