Jordan to host 2022 Asian U-17 tournament

AMMAN — The Asian Wrestling Federation has selected Jordan to host the 2022 Asian U-17 Championships.

The announcement was made during the federation’s meeting in Kazakhstan during its participation in the Asian Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifiers.اضافة اعلان

Hazem Al-Naimat, president of the Jordan Wrestling Federation told Jordan News: “We have highly developed organizational leaderships  and are able to host the Asian championship with high efficiency,” 

“We are happy that we have been chosen to host this important sporting event. All details will be discussed with the Olympic Committee, and we will prepare a distinguished generation of wrestlers to achieve good results,” he added. 

The national wrestling team returned from Kazakhstan, after concluding an appearance in the Asian Wrestling Championship and qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics, after Abdul Karim Abu Duaij  (86kg) lost in free wrestling, then his colleague Ahmed Dahshan (67kg) lost the championship and the qualifying seat for the Olympics to Iranian champion Muhammad Giray, who won a gold medal in Roman wrestling.
