Amman — Al-Faisaly delivered one of its finest performances of the new football season, defeating Al-Baqa'a 4-0 on Sunday at Amman International Stadium, closing out the third round of the Pro League.

Ahmad Al-Ersan opened the scoring for Al-Faisaly in the 37th minute, before Noor Al-Din Al-Rawabdeh scored two consecutive goals in the 55th and 67th minutes, and substitute defender Ahmad Abdo Rabbo added a fourth goal in the 89th minute, pushing Al-Faisaly to the top of the standings for the first time this season, raising its tally to 7 points, ahead of Al-Ramtha on goal difference, while Al-Baqa'a slipped to fifth place with 4 points.
The match saw a red card shown at the end of the first half to Al-Baqa'a's Mohammad Al-Kaloub, for impeding Al-Ersan, with the sending-off affecting the course of the match and helping Al-Faisaly achieve what it needed from the fixture.
Pro League competitions will pause until roughly mid-October, due to the international break, during which the national team will play two friendly matches at King Abdullah II Stadium, against Syria and Venezuela.

Al-Baqa'a head coach Amjad Abu Ta'ima started the match relying on: Malek Shalabiya, Mohammad Al-Kaloub, Al-Mahdi Issa, Ahmad Obeidat, Al-Mu'tasim Billah Al-Zoubi, Odai Khroub, Obeida Al-Samarneh, Ali Al-Diyabat, Kayo Henrique, Zaid Abu Abed, and Mohammad Al-Akkash.
Al-Faisaly head coach Tarek Mostafa relied, in his starting lineup, on: Abdullah Al-Fakhouri, Anas Badawi, Hossam Abu Al-Dahab, Ihsan Haddad, Mohammad Haddad, Saidou Simpore, Noor Al-Din Al-Rawabdeh, Salah Al-Yahyai, Ahmad Al-Ersan, Anas Al-Awadat, and Rizq Bani Hani.
Al-Baqa'a nearly opened the scoring early, specifically in the 12th minute, when Henrique lofted a ball in from the left side, which Al-Akkash met first-time with a volleyed shot that struck the outside of the net, prompting "the Blue" to respond quickly a minute later, with a powerful shot from Al-Ersan that the defense cleared before it reached goal.
Al-Faisaly then took control of possession, looking to please its fans by taking the lead, with the crossbar denying Al-Awadat what might have been one of the season's most beautiful goals, after a precise cross from Omani player Al-Yahyai, which Al-Awadat met with a rocket shot that the crossbar denied in the 18th minute.
Al-Akkash returned to threaten Al-Faisaly's goal, with a header in the 27th minute, following a cross from Al-Kaloub, but the ball rose just over the goal. Al-Faisaly responded again, this time successfully, opening the scoring in the 37th minute, after Al-Ersan struck a shot the defense cleared off the goal line, before the ball returned to Al-Awadat, who played a grounded pass that Al-Ersan again met, finding the net.
The first minute of stoppage time saw a red card shown to Al-Baqa'a captain Mohammad Al-Kaloub, after head referee Marwan Al-Samaeel consulted VAR and noticed an obstruction by Al-Kaloub against Al-Ersan, leaving Al-Baqa'a to play the rest of the match a man down, with the half ending 1-0.
Al-Faisaly continued its attacking pressure at the start of the second half, hoping to extend the result and capitalize on its opponent's numerical disadvantage, with the crossbar denying a header from Al-Ersan, before "the Blue's" second goal arrived in the 55th minute, after Bani Hani delivered a pass that midfielder Al-Rawabdeh met with a left-footed shot that found the right side of Shalabiya's goal.
Al-Awadat produced a skillful moment on the right flank in the 67th minute, beating three players, before laying the ball on a golden platter for his teammate Al-Rawabdeh, who struck it first-time into the left side of Al-Baqa'a's goal, scoring the team's third goal and his own second of the match.
Defender Ahmad Abdo Rabbo came on as a substitute in the 79th minute, for the first time this season, and ten minutes later managed to score the team's fourth and final goal in the 89th minute, after a precise cross from fellow substitute Jean Ahoua, which Abdo Rabbo headed into the left side of the goal, closing out the goal festival and leaving his mark strongly in his first appearance with the team.
