Amman — Omani driver Abdullah Al-Rawahi and his Jordanian co-driver Atta Al-Hammoud, driving a Skoda Fabia R5, were crowned champions of the fifth round of the Jordan Rally Championship, held the day before yesterday in the Dead Sea area.

Jordanian driver Shaker Jweihan and his compatriot co-driver Mustafa Jumaa, driving a Mitsubishi Evo 10, came in second place, while Jordanian driver Sheikh Badr Al-Fayez and his Lebanese co-driver Joseph Matar, driving a Skoda Fabia R5, finished third.
The rally was organized by the Jordan Motorsport Federation, sponsored by Zain Jordan.
Its total distance reached 266.98 km, of which 86.74 km were special stages on a gravel route, contested by 19 drivers and co-drivers from Jordan, the Sultanate of Oman, Palestine, and Lebanon, across six stages: Panorama 1 and 2, Sweimeh 1 and 2, and Shuneh 1 and 2.
The following withdrew from the rally: Khalil Maabdeh and Amer Asaibi; Hashem Kalbouneh and Dargham Rustom; Khaled Tiyaha and Hussein Al-Qaed; Anwar Maabdeh and Mohammad Maabdeh; Younis Katatji and Shaker Al-Khasasi, driving a Can-Am Maverick; Saif Al-Sheikh and Youssef Jumaa; Shadi Shaaban and Samer Issa; and Kareem Badawi and Walid Shabsough, driving a Suzuki Samurai. Nancy Al-Majali and Yazan Jumaa were disqualified.
