The award was given to the academy by the International Chess Federation for 2020/2021.

"I do not forget the great credit of the late Prince Mohammed bin Talal, may God have mercy upon him, for his support to establish the academy which met with his ambitions to spread and improve the game in our beloved country” Saffarini said.

He added: “This achievement is part of series of achievements in Jordanian chess, as a result of institutional work and the team work and spirit of the Royal Jordanian Chess Federation, chaired by Nawaf Ershidat, who believed that the academy would not have witnessed success without the support of the Jordan Olympics Committee.”

The academy contributed to the development of the game, players, and coaches at the local, regional, and global level. It also organizes various community events for students.
