Jordan’s women’s national volleyball team will face Iraq at 6 p.m. today at the Sports Palace Hall in Al Hussein Youth City, in the final match of the West Asia Women’s Volleyball Championship. The Jordanian team hopes to retain the silver medal for the third consecutive edition.

The competition is reaching its peak as the two teams remain close in points. Jordan currently sits third with three points, earned from a 3–0 victory over Qatar and a 0–3 defeat to Lebanon. Iraq is second with four points, after beating Qatar 3–0 and losing to Lebanon 2–3.
Jordan head coach Ziad Habash stressed the importance of the match, saying the coaching staff, assisted by Yaqub Al-Qahwaji, had worked to address the mistakes made against Lebanon while building on the team’s strengths in preparation for a different performance against Iraq.
Habash noted that Iraq has several talented and experienced players, making the match particularly challenging. He emphasized the need for Jordan’s players to maintain a high level of concentration, follow the tactical instructions, and translate their preparations into a strong performance on the court.
He added that the match represents an important test for the players, given that its outcome will determine the winner of the silver medal. Habash expressed confidence in the team’s ability to deliver a performance worthy of its standing and defend the medal it won in the previous two editions.
Before the final, Lebanon, which leads the standings with five points, will face Qatar, who have yet to earn a point. The match will take place at 4 p.m. at the same venue.
Lebanon appears to be the strongest candidate to retain the title for a third consecutive time after defeating both Jordan and Iraq, bringing the team closer to gold. Qatar, meanwhile, will be looking to end its campaign on a positive note and secure its first victory of the tournament.
