His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al-Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, opened the 24th Asian Karate Championship for Cadets, Juniors, and Under-21 athletes on Tuesday, hosted at the Arena Hall in Al-Hussein Youth City.

The opening ceremony was attended by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Abdullah bin Faisal and Prince Mohammad bin Faisal, with the championship featuring 338 male and female athletes representing 30 countries, competing over four days.
Minister of Youth and head of the tournament's Higher Organizing Committee, Raed Al-Adwan, affirmed in his speech at the opening ceremony that all national institutions are committed to providing the necessary resources for the championship's success and presenting Jordan in the sporting image it deserves.
For his part, President of the Jordan Karate Federation, Hassan Massoud, welcomed the participating delegations, affirming that Amman hosting the championship reflects sport's role in bringing peoples together and reinforces Jordan's standing as a home of security and stability.
Meanwhile, President of the Asian Karate Federation, Major General Nasser Al-Razouqi, praised Jordan's organizational efforts and the facilities provided to host the championship, commending the country's commitment to delivering an outstanding continental event.
The opening ceremony included folkloric and heritage performances, alongside artistic shows that added a festive atmosphere to the tournament's launch.
Following the opening ceremony, Prince Faisal watched part of the championship's competitions and presented medals to the top finishers in the under-57kg and over-60kg categories for junior boys, and the over-60kg category for junior girls.
