The ceremony will take place at the London Palladium at 8 p.m. GMT, or 11 p.m. Jordan time. It marks the first time London has hosted the event, which was launched in 1956.
The ceremony will be presented by former French football star Thierry Henry and sports broadcaster Kate Scott. The programme will also feature musical performances by singers Jorja Smith and French Montana.
Several of football’s biggest stars are competing for the men’s Ballon d’Or, including England’s Harry Kane, Spain’s Lamine Yamal, France’s Kylian Mbappé, Argentina’s Lionel Messi, and France’s Ousmane Dembélé, who won the award in 2025.
Estimates published by British media outlets suggest Kane is leading the race for the award, with Yamal and Mbappé also in contention. The final ranking of nominees and the winner will be determined during the ceremony.
The event will also announce the winner of the women’s Ballon d’Or, alongside awards recognising the best young talents, goalkeepers, coaches, and clubs in both the men’s and women’s categories. The programme will also include the Sócrates Award, which recognises humanitarian and social initiatives.
This year’s ceremony coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Ballon d’Or, presented by France Football magazine in partnership with UEFA since 2024.
