His Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein said that presidents of continental football confederations have no right to interfere in elections for the presidency of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), stressing that voting is the right of every member national association.اضافة اعلان

In a post on his account on X, Prince Ali added that recent claims regarding the participation of continental confederation presidents or FIFA Council members in the vote have no basis in the election process.

He said he had returned from Tokyo, where the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Congress was held. The first two days of the congress focused on football, while the final day took on a political character, he said, allegedly at the direction of FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Prince Ali said reports had suggested there was a unified Asian position on the election of the next FIFA president. However, he noted that no one had been allowed to speak, ask questions, engage in discussion or address the media.

He concluded by saying that a lack of transparency leads to a lack of accountability, stressing that no pressure, threats or bribery should be allowed.
