Speaking to the media at a press conference on Tuesday, Mostafa said that despite absences in several positions, the team remains confident it can make up for its opening-match defeat. He also expressed strong confidence in the players available to him.
“Amine Al-Shanaina will remain absent because his injury keeps recurring. Defender Muhannad Khairallah has also suffered a recurrence of his injury ahead of the last Jordanian Pro League match, while the third injured player is Palestinian left-back Camilo Saldana, who is not yet fit to return,” Mostafa said.
Mostafa noted that Group C is among the toughest groups in the AFC Champions League Two, given that all teams have a chance to compete for the two qualification spots. He expressed hope that the team would benefit from its supporters’ backing in the upcoming match.
“There will be changes to the lineup because of the demanding schedule the team will face this month. I am particularly impressed by some of the international players, such as Ihsan Haddad, who has played in more than one position this season and has been performing strongly,” he added.
For his part, Al-Faisaly player Hossam Abu Al-Dhahab acknowledged the difficulty of the match against Al-Nahda but said the team is determined to deliver a performance worthy of Al-Faisaly and Jordanian football.
“Opening matches are always difficult, and the result against Al-Rayyan does not reflect our ambitions in this competition. We are determined to put in a strong campaign and ensure that our participation is about more than simply taking part,” he said.
