Dr. Tatyana Romanenko, a cardiologist, explains that specific exercises and proper hydration can help relieve headaches without the need for medication.اضافة اعلان

She notes that headaches often arise from spinal issues, injuries, lifestyle changes, physical activity, or emotional stress.

“The jaw and temple muscles often become tense, which can make even touching the head or brushing the hair painful,” she says.

To alleviate this type of headache, she recommends the following exercises:

Side Pressure Exercise:

Place one hand on the side of your head and the other hand on top of it.

Press gently and hold for 5 seconds, then relax.

Repeat several times with short breaks.

Forehead Pressure Exercise:

Place one hand on your forehead and the other on top of it.

Apply gentle pressure while slightly tilting your head forward.

This helps relieve tension in the frontal muscles.

Neck and Collar Massage:

Gently massage the neck and collar area to relax the muscles and improve circulation.

Dr. Romanenko adds that if these exercises do not help, the headache may be due to dehydration.

“In such cases, drinking a glass of water can help. Many headaches are simply the result of not drinking enough fluids,” she explains.

She recommends consuming around 2 to 2.5 liters of water per day to maintain proper hydration.

However, Dr. Romanenko warns that if a headache is accompanied by nausea, throbbing in the temples, or irregular heartbeat, it’s important to seek medical attention, as these symptoms could indicate a more serious condition.
