Syrian Delegation Reviews Jordan’s Experience in Combating Corruption
The Chairman of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC), Dr. Muhannad Hijazi, on Wednesday received a delegation from Syria’s Central Commission for Control and Inspection, headed by its chairman Amer Al-Ali, to review the Commission’s experience in combating corruption and promoting the values and culture of integrity.اضافة اعلان

Dr. Hijazi said the meeting aims to exchange and transfer knowledge between the two sides and strengthen the foundations and frameworks of joint cooperation. He affirmed that Jordan is very open toward sisterly Syria, noting that the partnership between the two commissions embodies the vision of the leaderships of the two brotherly countries.

He expressed hope that the visit would enhance cooperation in various fields, including training, capacity building, and the exchange of expertise, and would further institutionalize cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Al-Ali commended Jordan’s efforts—its leadership, government, and people—in supporting Syria, noting that the visit comes within the context of strengthening cooperation in the fields of transparency and anti-corruption and benefiting from Jordan’s pioneering experience in this area, in addition to transferring expertise.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Unit at the Central Bank of Jordan, Samia Abu Sharif, presented the unit’s experience and mandates, including information gathering, assessment and analysis of the financial and non-financial situation, and coordination of the implementation of public policy in combating money laundering and terrorist financing crimes, in line with the vision of the National Committee for Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing.

The delegation included the Deputy Chairman of the Commission, Ahmad Al-Shallash; Director of the Higher Institute for Control and Inspection, Ali Suleiman; Director of International Cooperation, Mohammad Al-Atwi; Director of Training and Qualification, Zakaria Bolus; Director of Relations and Government Communication, Hisham Al-Khatib; and Director of Information Technology, Tareq Al-Ghoush.

The meeting was attended by members of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission’s Board and a number of directors, who presented the mechanisms of their directorates’ work and the nature of their activities.
