These releases are part of periodic prisoner releases from the Gaza Strip, where detainees are held for months in Israeli prisons that lack minimum humanitarian standards and are reportedly subjected to torture, according to documented testimonies.
Medical sources reported that the nine released prisoners arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, where medical teams are conducting the necessary examinations.
The sources added that the released prisoners were transferred from the Kissufim military point (east) via vehicles of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Israel had previously released around 1,700 prisoners from Gaza on October 13, as part of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas.
The agreement took effect on October 10, 2025, under the mediation of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, and with the oversight of U.S. President Donald Trump, as part of a multi-stage plan.
