Medical Breakthrough: Australian Scientists Grow Fully-Formed Human Skin
Scientists from the Frazer Institute at the University of Queensland, Australia, have successfully grown samples of fully-formed human-like skin, marking a world-first achievement.اضافة اعلان

Researchers explained that the experiment relied on using stem cells to regenerate blood vessels, hair follicles, and immune cells, along with forming multiple layers of tissue.

They noted that these new skin samples are significantly more complete than previous attempts, which often used only a single type of cell and resulted in thinner, less functional layers, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Professor Kiarash Khosrotehrani, Director of the Frazer Institute, stated:

“We believe this opens up new possibilities for developing treatments for several rare conditions affecting families with sick children.”

The breakthrough is expected to lead to innovative therapies for genetic skin disorders, and support major advances in skin reconstruction and burn treatment.
