Minister of Investment: 2026 Investment Environment Regulation Amendments Boost Job Opportunities
Minister of Investment, Tariq Abu Ghazaleh, confirmed that the amended regulation for organizing the investment environment for the year 2026 came as a direct response to feedback gained from practical application over the past three years. The amendments aim to shift from an approach relying on prior approvals to a more flexible environment that depends on subsequent monitoring and enhances investor confidence.اضافة اعلان

Abu Ghazaleh explained that the drafting of the regulation involved a broad consultative process that included more than 25 entities from both the public and private sectors, along with over 50 investors and an online survey. This aimed to reach amendments that address the challenges faced by investors during the previous period.

He pointed out that the key challenges the amendments focused on addressing included:

Lengthy and complex procedures.

A multiplicity of approvals and committees.

Prolonged timeframes for processing transactions.

The presence of certain conditions that limit the utilization of incentives.

The need for greater flexibility in licensing, expansion, and development.

Certain restrictions related to non-Jordanian investors.

The Minister indicated that the amended regulation contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy and improving the business environment by accelerating and simplifying procedures—particularly within the Ministry of Investment. This will help attract qualitative and strategic investments, stimulate investment in governorates and less-developed areas, and improve Jordan's ranking in ease of doing business indices.

He emphasized that these amendments will reflect positively on supporting economic growth and creating more job opportunities for young men and women across various sectors.
