Health Minister Ibrahim Al-Bdour said the Digital Health Center has provided remote medical services since its launch a year ago, helping ease the burden on patients, improve the quality of healthcare services, and achieve financial savings through the management of medical supplies and hospital beds at public hospitals.
During a briefing at a meeting of the National Council for Future Technology, chaired by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Al-Bdour said the center includes a dialysis unit and an intensive care unit connected to 12 hospitals.
He added that the center’s digital radiology unit is connected to 19 hospitals, while its telemedicine unit is linked to three health centers.
Al-Bdour said the center has so far completed more than 45,000 remote radiology reports, monitored over 55,000 dialysis sessions, and supervised more than 2,000 cases in intensive care units. It has also provided hundreds of specialized consultations to hospitals and health centers connected to the facility.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Deputy to His Majesty the King, stressed during Tuesday’s regular meeting of the National Council for Future Technology the importance of expanding the connection of hospitals and health centers to the Digital Health Center.
The Crown Prince also emphasized the need to continue harnessing technological and technical capabilities to improve healthcare services and provide better services to citizens.
During the meeting, attended by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, Chairman of the Council, the Crown Prince stressed the importance of developing implementation plans to strengthen the digital economy and enhance Jordan’s position as a supportive environment for startups in the digital and technology sectors.
The meeting also reviewed progress on projects currently being implemented by the Council and discussed future plans across various sectors, particularly education. Participants also followed up on efforts to advance digital transformation and harness technology to improve services provided to citizens.
