The two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Safadi and Sugiono also discussed the catastrophic repercussions of illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank and stressed the need to bring them to an end.

Safadi warned that Israel’s continued escalation against the Palestinian people, increasing violations of Al-Haram Al-Sharif/Al-Aqsa Mosque, and attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites risk triggering a wider escalation in the occupied West Bank and undermining all prospects for achieving a just peace.

The two ministers also discussed the situation in Gaza and stressed the need to implement all provisions of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan aimed at consolidating stability in the Strip and ensuring the delivery of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid.

Safadi and Sugiono also reviewed efforts to end regional escalation, ensure implementation of the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, and reach a comprehensive agreement that addresses all causes of tension, guarantees freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, and achieves lasting security and stability.

In a related development, Safadi held a separate phone call with Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdulsalam Abdi Ali to discuss bilateral relations and developments in the region.

The two ministers discussed the situation in the occupied West Bank, as well as efforts to ensure compliance with the ceasefire between the United States and Iran and reach a comprehensive agreement that would achieve lasting security and stability.

During the call, Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s full support for Somalia’s security, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
