His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Deputy to His Majesty the King, on Tuesday stressed the importance of expanding the connection of hospitals and health centers to the Digital Health Center, during a regular meeting of the National Council for Future Technology.
During the meeting, attended by Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, Chairman of the Council, the Crown Prince emphasized the need to continue harnessing technological and technical capabilities to improve the quality of healthcare services and ensure the best possible services for citizens.
Health Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bdour briefed the meeting on the services provided by the Digital Health Center since its opening a year ago, highlighting its role in delivering remote medical services that help ease the burden on patients, improve healthcare quality, and generate financial savings through the management of medical supplies and hospital beds at public hospitals.
Al-Bdour said the center includes a dialysis unit and an intensive care unit connected to 12 hospitals. Its digital radiology unit is linked to 19 hospitals, while its telemedicine unit is connected to three health centers.
He noted that the center has so far produced more than 45,000 remote radiology reports, monitored over 55,000 dialysis sessions, supervised more than 2,000 cases in intensive care units, and provided hundreds of specialized consultations to hospitals and health centers connected to the facility.
During the meeting, the Crown Prince directed officials to develop implementation plans aimed at strengthening the digital economy and enhancing Jordan’s position as a supportive environment and hub for startups in the digital and technology sectors.
The meeting also reviewed progress on projects currently being implemented by the Council and discussed future plans across various sectors, particularly education.
