The U.S. dollar fell to its lowest level in two weeks at the start of Asian trading on Wednesday, while the euro, yen, and the Australian and New Zealand dollars all rose sharply after U.S. President Donald Trump announced his agreement to a two-week ceasefire with Iran.اضافة اعلان

The yen gained 0.6% to 158.68 per dollar, the euro rose 0.7% to $1.167, and the British pound increased 0.7% to $1.3385. Meanwhile, the Australian dollar climbed 1.3% to $0.7068, and the New Zealand dollar jumped 1.4% to $0.5810.

Trump had earlier threatened to launch large-scale attacks on Iranian civilian infrastructure. However, markets shifted toward a risk-on sentiment following the announcement, which came less than two hours before the deadline he had set for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The dollar index, which measures the U.S. currency against a basket of six major currencies, dropped 1.0% to 98.97—its lowest level in two weeks.

Cryptocurrencies also advanced, with Bitcoin rising 3.4% to $71,664.41 and Ether gaining 5.7% to $2,234.78.
