Preliminary data issued by the Central Bank of Jordan indicates a 14.5% increase in total incoming workers' remittances to the Kingdom during the first five months of 2026, reaching $2,062.1 million ($2.1 billion). Outward remittances from the Kingdom also rose by 15.0% to reach $806.7 million.

The data shows that incoming remittances from the United Arab Emirates ranked first, accounting for 21.9% of the total incoming remittances, followed by the United States of America at 19.9%, Saudi Arabia at 17.9%, Qatar at 9.5%, and Kuwait at 5.4%. Other countries made up the remaining 25.4% of total incoming transfers.
Regarding outward transfers, the Arab Republic of Egypt emerged as the primary destination, accounting for 41.1% of remittances leaving the Kingdom, followed by the People's Republic of Bangladesh at 11.8%, the Philippines at 4.9%, and Palestine at 4.1%. Other countries accounted for 38.1% of the total outward transfers.
On another front, preliminary data indicates that tourism revenue for June 2026 grew by 7.0%, reaching $685.0 million. However, during the first half of 2026, overall tourism revenue declined by 5.3% to $3.5 billion. The data reveals a H1 2026 drop in tourism revenue from Jordanian expatriates by 12.1%, American nationals by 25.6%, European nationals by 28.2%, Asian nationals by 3.5%, and other nationalities by 40.6%. Conversely, tourism revenue from Arab visitors increased by 6.5%.
Additionally, tourism expenditure by Jordanians and residents dropped by 6.7% in June 2026 to reach $182.4 million. For the first half of 2026, expenditure declined by 9.4%, totaling $906.1 million.
