Trump Announces Ten-Day Ceasefire in Lebanon

U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ten-day ceasefire in Lebanon.

In a post on his official account on the social media platform Truth, he said he had an excellent conversation with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He added that “the two leaders agreed to a ten-day ceasefire starting at midnight, aimed at achieving peace between the two countries.”

Trump confirmed that he had tasked Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, along with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kane, with “working with Israel and Lebanon to achieve lasting peace.”

He concluded his post by saying: “It has been an honor for me to help end nine wars around the world, and this will be the tenth—so let’s get it done.”
