U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that “it’s Cuba’s turn,” during a speech at an investment forum in Miami, where he praised the successes of U.S. military operations in Venezuela and Iran.
Earlier, Trump had pledged to “take over” Cuba, which has been plunged into darkness due to a complete power outage resulting from the oil embargo imposed by Washington on the communist island.
At the time, Trump said, “All my life I’ve been hearing about the United States and Cuba. When is the United States going to do it?”
He added, “I believe I (…) will have the honor of taking over Cuba.”
He continued, “Whether I liberate it or take it over (…) I think I can do whatever I want with it. The truth is, they are a very weak nation right now.”
