Jordan Welcomes Ceasefire Agreement in Lebanon

Jordan welcomed today the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump of a ceasefire in Lebanon, praising the significant and positive role played by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, the Lebanese government headed by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed in a statement Jordan’s full support for the Lebanese state in asserting its authority and sovereignty over all Lebanese territory, ensuring that weapons remain exclusively in the hands of the state, reactivating national institutions, advancing reform measures, and preserving Lebanon’s resources, as well as the safety and unity of its territory.
