Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan held a phone call with his Lebanese counterpart, Dr. Nawaf Salam, during which he affirmed Jordan’s full solidarity with Lebanon and its rejection of the ongoing Israeli aggression against its territory.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Jordan’s firm support for Lebanon, its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens. He also expressed support for the Lebanese government’s efforts to extend its authority over all Lebanese territory, restore the effectiveness of its national institutions, and ensure that arms remain exclusively in the hands of the state.
Hassan stressed that Jordan, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, stands ready to provide all possible assistance to the Republic of Lebanon.
He reiterated Jordan’s complete rejection of this aggression, describing it as a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, and emphasized that targeting civilians constitutes a clear breach of international law and international humanitarian law.
He warned that this dangerous escalation could drive the region toward further tension and conflict, stressing the need for an immediate cessation of attacks and full adherence to the ceasefire agreement reached on November 27, 2024.
