Jordan condemned today the ongoing Israeli attacks on the brotherly Lebanese Republic and the Israeli ground incursion into southern Lebanon, describing them as a blatant violation of Lebanese sovereignty, international law, and international humanitarian law, and a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized the necessity of an immediate halt to Israeli attacks on Lebanon, the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory, and complete commitment to the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 in all its provisions, ensuring that Lebanese state institutions are empowered to carry out their duties.
The Ministry stressed Jordan’s absolute support for Lebanon’s security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens. It further expressed support for the Lebanese government’s efforts to exercise control over all Lebanese territory, reactivate its national institutions, and ensure that the possession of arms is restricted solely to the state.
Furthermore, the Ministry called on the international community to uphold its responsibilities by compelling Israel to respect international law and international humanitarian law and to stop all its attacks on Lebanon, in order to prevent the expansion of the conflict and the further deterioration of the security and humanitarian situation.
