During a press conference, Al-Ansari reaffirmed his country's rejection of claims regarding an agreement with the Iranians. He emphasized the necessity of maintaining the ceasefire between Iran and the United States and focusing on its stabilization.
He added that the resolution of the Strait of Hormuz crisis must be regional, involving the coastal states that depend on it. He stressed that the security of the Strait cannot be threatened by any party and that there should be no preconditions for its reopening.
Al-Ansari explained that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is an emergency, and everyone must work toward a sustainable solution. He noted that there had been no prior issues with the management of the Strait and that the consequences of its closure extend far beyond energy markets.
He pointed out that communication is ongoing with partners to reopen the Strait and halt the negative repercussions of its closure.
"The language of threats is unacceptable, and we deal with all threats in a manner that ensures the safety of our country," he continued, affirming the resilience of the Qatari economy and the economies of the region despite the consequences.
Al-Ansari noted that all crises are resolved through dialogue, highlighting Qatar's support for Lebanon's efforts to de-escalate and end the war, noting that coordination regarding developments in Lebanon is ongoing with all parties.
He also stated that Qatar supports Pakistan's mediation efforts between Iran and the United States, adding that intensive regional contacts are currently taking place to ensure the success of mediation and de-escalation efforts.
"We are awaiting confirmation for a new round of negotiations in Pakistan, and we support these diplomatic efforts," he concluded.
