Kremlin: U.S. Blockade of the Strait of Hormuz Would Harm Global Markets
The Kremlin on Monday criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that the United States intends to impose a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, warning that such a move would negatively impact global markets.اضافة اعلان

The U.S. military said it would block maritime traffic to and from Iranian ports starting at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time (14:00 GMT) on Monday, a step expected to prevent roughly two million barrels of Iranian oil per day from reaching global markets, further tightening supply.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov noted that many aspects of the proposed plan remain unclear.

The blockade is set to begin following the failure of U.S.–Iran negotiations in Islamabad, which has already contributed to rising oil prices.

According to Washington, the blockade will apply to all vessels heading to or departing from Iranian ports.

President Trump confirmed the timing in a post on Truth Social, stating that the United States would enforce the blockade starting at 10:00 a.m. Washington time on April 13.
