AMMAN — Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al-Safadi on Monday met with the UN Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Sven Koopmans to discuss efforts to maintain the ceasefire in the occupied West Bank and bring about a comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution.اضافة اعلان

Safadi stressed that the two-state solution is the only way to guarantee the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, along June 4, 1967 lines.

Safadi also reiterated the importance of the UN’s efforts to create genuine political prospects to support the Palestinian economy and achieve peace in the region.

For his part, Koopmans lauded Jordan’s efforts to maintain the ceasefire in the West Bank, stressing his keenness to uphold cooperation with the Kingdom to enforce the peace process.
