Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi will participate on Wednesday in the United Nations Security Council’s monthly briefing session on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue. He is also scheduled to meet with several of his counterparts attending the session.

The United Nations Security Council will discuss the Palestinian issue at the ministerial level during its monthly meeting.
The session is expected to be chaired by Yvette Cooper, the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, as the UK holds the Council’s presidency for this month.
Council members will receive a briefing from Rosemary DiCarlo, Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly recent measures aimed at facilitating the seizure of land in the occupied West Bank.
