Al-Hazaimeh said Thursday that 409 traffic officers and 122 vehicles had been assigned to manage traffic during the event.

The first closures will begin at 4 a.m., followed by additional closures at around 7 a.m. The measures will cover major roads and routes across the capital in line with the different stages and routes of the marathon.

He said the traffic management plan includes deploying personnel and vehicles at locations affected by closures and diversions, as well as monitoring traffic both on the ground and through cameras. He urged drivers to follow the instructions of traffic officers and comply with designated diversions.

The marathon will consist of three races, covering distances of 42 kilometers, 21 kilometers and 10 kilometers, with roads being closed in stages according to the start times and routes of each race.

The Jordanian Marathon Association announced the traffic closure plan accompanying the Promen Marathon Amman 2026 on Friday, in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure participants' safety and manage traffic as runners pass through the race routes.

The closures will cover several major streets and routes in the capital along the courses of the 42.195-kilometer marathon, including individual and relay categories, the 21-kilometer half marathon and the 10-kilometer race, according to the scheduled times for each route.

Closures along the 42km and 21km routes

The road extending from the New Raghadan Complex through both directions of Army Street, Al-Hashimi Square, Quraish Street and Ali Bin Abi Talib Street toward Al-Muhajireen Intersection, as well as Omar Matar Street, King Talal Street and Al-Hashemi Street, will be closed from midnight until noon.

These closures are part of the shared route for the full 42.195-kilometer marathon, in both the individual and relay categories, and the 21-kilometer half marathon. These races will begin at 6 a.m.

Closures along the 10km route

Queen Alia Street will be completely closed between Sports City Circle and the Interior Circle, along with Queen Noor Street between the Interior Circle and the Fourth Circle.

The closures will also include Uqba Bin Nafeh Street and Princess Basma Street, extending to Al-Hashimi Square. These closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. until noon, coinciding with the 10-kilometer race, which starts at 9 a.m.

The Jordanian Marathon Association urged residents and road users to take the closures into account when planning their travel on marathon morning, choose appropriate alternative routes and follow the instructions of traffic officers and relevant authorities at locations affected by traffic diversions.

The measures are part of the field arrangements for the Promen Marathon Amman 2026, which will be held under the slogan "Run in the Heart of Amman", with runners participating across the different race categories.
