The Greater Amman Municipality has deployed its available vehicles, equipment, and staff to support companies responsible for cleaning services in the capital until the delivery and readiness of new equipment allocated to them. The move aims to ensure service continuity, address areas where waste has accumulated, and improve the regularity of waste collection across different areas.

The municipality said it is reorganizing responsibilities and tasks with the companies carrying out the services. This includes clearly distributing responsibilities in each area, matching the workload with the available vehicles and staff, and monitoring implementation in the field.
Measures being implemented this week include intensifying cleaning operations, monitoring areas where waste accumulation is recurring and addressing them promptly, and defining the responsibilities of the municipality and the companies in each area. Teams will also return to previously addressed locations to verify that services remain regular and that waste does not accumulate again.
The municipality's operational capacity is expected to increase with the phased arrival of modern garbage compactors and other vehicles, in accordance with the approved supply schedule. The program includes strengthening the fleet before the end of October and completing additional deliveries before the end of the year. The municipality will announce the confirmed numbers and dates, as well as which vehicles have actually entered service.
The municipality confirmed that there has been a gradual improvement in the level of cleanliness and waste collection, with the number of complaints decreasing by 51 percent since the companies began carrying out cleaning services. It said this will lead to a tangible improvement over the next three weeks, while service development will continue as the new vehicles arrive and enter operation.
The municipality said citizens' observations and location-specific reports help identify areas requiring intervention and direct teams to them. Compliance with waste disposal instructions also supports efforts to maintain clean neighborhoods. The municipality and the companies responsible for the services share responsibility for ensuring regular collection and addressing waste accumulation.
