In a post on the X platform on Thursday, Al-Momani said the census is a statistical process and an important global practice undertaken by countries to strengthen their tools for future planning. He added that Jordan has consistently been proactive in adopting measures that improve the quality of government plans and their outcomes.
He stressed that data confidentiality is guaranteed and the privacy of citizens and residents is protected. He added that all necessary measures have been put in place to allow people to verify the identities of census researchers and obtain answers to their questions.
Jordan’s population census began Thursday and will continue for one month as part of the field enumeration phase. Around 12,000 field researchers, 60% of them women, are taking part in the operation, which covers approximately 12 million people, 2.5 million households and more than 1 million buildings.
