The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed Jordan’s sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the friendly Kingdom of Spain over the victims of the train collision in southern Spain, which resulted in a number of deaths and injuries.

The ministry’s official spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, affirmed the Kingdom’s full solidarity with and support for the government and people of Spain in their painful tragedy, extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
At least 39 people were killed in the high-speed train collision on Sunday evening in southern Spain.
According to Spain’s Minister of Transport, the rear carriages of an IRIO train that had departed Málaga in the Andalusia region (southern Spain) toward the capital Madrid derailed near Adamuz, about 200 kilometers north of Málaga, and collided with a RENFE train traveling in the opposite direction on an adjacent track toward the city of Huelva.
