Royal committee member resigns after op-ed controversy

AMMAN — Member of the Royal Committee for Political Modernization, Oraib Rantawi, submitted his resignation on Saturday and it was accepted. Rantawi submitted his resignation amid controversy and backlash towards an op-ed he published last week. Rantawi issued an apology and a clarification shortly after, but decided to resign from the committee. The committee was formed earlier this month, and includes 92 members from diverse political, ideological, and sectorial backgrounds, Jordan News previously reported.
