The Israeli Army Radio reported that a Palestinian carried out the stabbing attack targeting an Israeli in the Osarin area before fleeing the scene. Israeli police said their forces rushed to a farm near the village after receiving a report of the incident.

Channel 12 reported that the wounded settler was airlifted to a hospital after sustaining multiple stab wounds, saying his condition was described as ranging from moderate to serious, according to the latest medical assessments.

According to a statement by the Israeli military spokesperson, the assailant entered an outpost near Osarin, stabbed a settler and then fled the area.

The statement added that large numbers of Israeli troops were deployed in the area and launched extensive search and pursuit operations to locate the assailant.

Israeli media reported that the assailant spoke with the settler at the site before carrying out the stabbing and then left the area in a vehicle.

Al Jazeera correspondent Laith Jaar said the Israeli military had begun extensive search operations to locate the assailant and imposed a curfew and security cordon around several villages near the site of the attack east of Nablus as part of the ongoing search and pursuit efforts.

The incident comes amid an unprecedented escalation in settler attacks in the occupied West Bank, which have taken place under the protection of the Israeli military. Israeli security officials have warned that the violence could lead to a further deterioration in the security situation.
