The engineering works at the site include the removal of sliding materials, construction of slopes, terraces, and necessary cuts in the adjacent mountainous area, as well as the reconstruction of the damaged section of the road in accordance with the highest approved technical standards.
The project also involves the installation of advanced systems for the drainage of groundwater and surface water, in addition to implementing public safety measures along the road to ensure a safe and stable traffic environment.
The first phase of the project focuses on reconstructing the damaged roadbed and diverting traffic to a temporary detour adjacent to the work area, which has been fully equipped with all traffic safety elements, including directional and warning signs, to maintain driver safety and facilitate the flow of traffic during construction.
The ministry affirmed that, through its specialized technical teams, it continues to implement regular and seasonal maintenance plans to ensure the readiness and sustainability of the road network in line with international safety standards.
It also stressed that road safety remains a top priority and that coordination is ongoing with the Public Security Directorate and the Highway Patrol Department to ensure smooth traffic flow during project execution.
The ministry urged all road users to exercise caution when driving on this route and to follow the instructions issued by project staff and security authorities.
Work on the site is expected to last 90 days, with a total project cost of approximately JD 112,000.
