Safadi and Cooper emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two countries across various fields.

They addressed developments in the region, highlighting the urgent need for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, and ensuring that all crossings are opened to allow the immediate delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid to the sector, which is suffering an unprecedented humanitarian crisis due to ongoing hostilities. Both ministers stressed the continued collaboration in providing humanitarian assistance to Gaza.

Safadi also raised concerns over the deteriorating situation in the occupied West Bank, citing Israel’s ongoing illegal measures, particularly settlement expansion, land confiscations, and the economic and political strangulation of the Palestinian people and leadership. He called for immediate and effective international action to halt measures that undermine the implementation of a two-state solution and the achievement of lasting peace.

During the call, Safadi reiterated Jordan’s condemnation of the Israeli aggression against sister state Qatar and affirmed support for Qatar in taking measures to protect its security, stability, sovereignty, and citizens.

Safadi congratulated Cooper on assuming her responsibilities as the UK Foreign Secretary and praised Britain’s supportive stance on the two-state solution and its intention to formally recognize the State of Palestine during the upcoming UN General Assembly meetings.

Both ministers agreed to maintain cooperation and coordination on issues of mutual interest.
