Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, visited the headquarters of the Southern Military Region on Wednesday, where he was received by the region’s commander and senior staff officers.
During the visit, Major General Al-Hunaiti, accompanied by a number of senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, received a comprehensive briefing from the regional commander on the formation’s responsibilities, operational, training, and logistical activities, as well as the readiness and preparedness levels of its various units and formations.
Al-Hunaiti emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest levels of readiness and preparedness and continuing to implement operational and training plans in accordance with the highest professional standards. He also stressed the importance of investing in personnel development and enhancing education and training programs to strengthen the region’s ability to carry out its missions with efficiency and professionalism.
The Chairman also toured an exhibition featuring a range of upgraded weapons systems and military equipment currently used by units of the Southern Military Region. He was briefed on their technical and operational capabilities and their role in enhancing combat effectiveness, defensive readiness, and the execution of assigned missions.
Major General Al-Hunaiti praised the high level of professionalism and preparedness demonstrated by the personnel of the Southern Military Region, commending their dedication and commitment to duty. He reaffirmed that the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces remains committed to supporting all formations and units by providing the resources needed to further develop their capabilities and enhance both operational and administrative efficiency in line with the demands of modern military operations.
