Jordan Intercepts Five Iranian Missiles

Jordan’s Armed Forces said its air defense systems intercepted and shot down five missiles launched from Iran toward the Kingdom early Wednesday, in accordance with the military’s approved rules of engagement.

The military spokesperson said the missiles were detected and engaged through the Armed Forces’ air surveillance and monitoring system before being intercepted.

The spokesperson stressed that the Jordan Armed Forces continue to carry out their duty of protecting the Kingdom’s airspace and safeguarding its security and sovereignty.

He added that the Armed Forces “will not hesitate to confront any threat that jeopardizes Jordan’s security or the safety of its citizens.”
