His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday received members of the Arab Ministerial Committee tasked with leading international efforts to confront Israel's illegal policies and measures in occupied Jerusalem.

The King stressed the need for a unified Arab and Islamic position and a coordinated effort to halt the unprecedented Israeli measures in Jerusalem, particularly at Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif.
During the meeting, held at Al Husseiniya Palace, with members of the Arab ministerial committee responsible for international action against Israel's illegal policies and actions in occupied Jerusalem, His Majesty reaffirmed that Jordan will continue to fulfill its historic and legal role in safeguarding the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, based on the Hashemite Custodianship.
The delegation included the foreign ministers of Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Palestine, Egypt, and Morocco, as well as the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. It also included the foreign ministers and representatives of Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, and Malaysia.
In the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the King warned of the dangers of exploiting the unrest in the region to impose a new reality in the holy city.
He also warned of the risk of the conflict expanding due to the continued Israeli escalation in the West Bank, attempts to annex land, and the expansion of settlements.
The meeting, attended by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King's Chief Adviser for Religious and Cultural Affairs and Personal Envoy, also discussed the importance of implementing all phases of the comprehensive peace plan for the Gaza Strip.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh.
