The official spokesperson for the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army said air defense systems intercepted and shot down five missiles launched from Iran that targeted Jordanian territory early Thursday.
The spokesperson said the missiles were detected, intercepted and destroyed in accordance with defensive plans prepared for such threats.
He confirmed that the interception operations were carried out efficiently and professionally, successfully thwarting the attempt to target the Kingdom’s territory, with no casualties reported.
The spokesperson stressed that the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army continues to carry out its duty to protect the Kingdom’s airspace and safeguard its security and sovereignty.
He added that the Armed Forces remain at the highest level of readiness to respond firmly to any threat targeting Jordan’s security and the safety of its citizens.
