Ministry spokesperson Fouad Al-Majali affirmed Jordan’s support for the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the New York Declaration, emphasizing the international community’s backing for the two-state solution as the only path to ending the occupation and achieving a just and comprehensive peace that ensures security and stability in the region.

Al-Majali praised the efforts of Saudi Arabia and France, and their joint leadership of the high-level UN international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and implementation of the two-state solution, held at UN headquarters in New York last July. He noted that the upcoming UN meeting, as a follow-up to the conference, provides an opportunity for all countries to support recognition of an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty over the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
