The Jerusalem Governorate said in a statement that Israeli forces stormed the institute and deployed throughout its premises.
Israeli forces had raided the UNRWA-affiliated institute last Tuesday and raised the Israeli flag over the building, in an operation involving far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
The raid drew Palestinian and international condemnation and was described as a violation of international law and an infringement of the immunities and privileges granted to the United Nations and its agencies.
The European Union, along with Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, reaffirmed their support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
