PETRA – On Wednesday, the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) began conducting an archaeological survey
in Petra using modern technology. The survey will cover the area from the
Treasury to the Theater.
This initiative aims to preserve the
archaeological site, ensure its sustainability, and collect crucial data about
the site periodically, Khaberni reported.
The collaboration with experts from the
American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) enhances the effectiveness of this
endeavor. By combining remote sensing technology, ground-penetrating radar, and
electromagnetic conductivity measurements, archaeological experts will be able
to explore and preserve Petra’s rich heritage.
