Olive oil adulteration cases decline in 2022 — JFDA

AMMAN — Head of the Food Inspection Department at the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Hadi Khaitan said on Wednesday that number of cases of olive oil adulteration in Jordan this year are “very low” compared to previous years.اضافة اعلان

He said that laboratory examination is the only sure way of detecting olive oil adulteration, Khaberni reported.

The JFDA’s role lies in protecting the national product and preserving the interests of small-scale farmers, he said, noting that Jordanians should not be tempted by low-priced oil, instead buying from an approved olive presser or an authorized seller.
