The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) announced on Sunday that it has granted the official license for Amman City Airport to operate civil aviation flights. The decision comes as part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to support civil aviation projects in line with government priorities and the Economic Modernization Vision, which aims to enhance infrastructure and strengthen Jordan’s role as a regional hub for logistics and air transport.

CARC Board Chairman Captain Dhaifallah Al-Farajat handed over the license to Ahmad Al-Azzam, Director General of the Jordan Airports Company.
Al-Farajat emphasized that completing all operational requirements reflects the company’s commitment to meeting the highest standards of safety, security, and operational efficiency. He noted that the Commission will continue monitoring all stages of airport operations to ensure readiness and high-quality services for travelers.
The Commission also approved the facility’s new official name:
“Amman City Airport”, as part of enhancing the airport’s operational identity and reinforcing its connection to the capital’s urban landscape and the services it provides.
