The Ministry of Labor’s Child Labor Reduction Inspection Department handled 96 child labor cases during the first half of 2026, including two involving girls and 94 involving boys, according to data from the Central Inspection Directorate.

According to the daily Al-Ghad, the cases involved 73 Jordanian children, 18 Syrian children, two Egyptian children, and three children of other nationalities.
The data showed that 2,198 establishments under the department’s jurisdiction were inspected during the same period as part of inspection campaigns and field visits aimed at monitoring and identifying cases of child employment.
During the first half of the year, the ministry recorded 35 violations against employers and issued 109 warnings, of which 73 were rectified, as part of efforts to enforce labor law provisions governing child labor.
The Ministry of Labor continues to implement inspection and awareness programs to curb child labor, as part of its policy of zero tolerance toward the employment of children and in cooperation with relevant partner organizations.
